Objective:
The purpose of this research is to determine the intra-rater reliability of QUS measurements in a community-based osteoporosis screening program. In order to adopt the bi-modal approach (QUS, and FRAX) for screening purposes, we will determine the agreement between them. At the same time, we will examine the variation in the agreement between QUS readings and FRAX scores by demographic and clinical factors, such as age, sex, and fracture history. In addition, we will assess the participants' comprehension and adherence to the advice given during the public awareness session.

Background:
Osteoporosis is a chronic skeletal disorder characterized by reduced bone mass and structural degradation, resulting in an elevated susceptibility to fragility fractures, particularly in the wrist, spine, and hip, with hip fractures exhibiting the highest morbidity and mortality rates. The prevalence of osteoporosis is notably higher among older individuals, particularly postmenopausal women. However, it is a preventable and treatable.

Methodology:
The data will be gathered via face-to-face interviews with the study participants, employing a structured and validated FRAX questionnaire. Additionally, QUS measurements will be conducted utilizing a portable ultrasound device. Subsequently, the acquired results will serve as the basis for providing participants with guidance pertaining to appropriate treatment, bone health management, and fall prevention strategies. As part of an ongoing assessment of public awareness initiatives, participants will be subjected to follow-up evaluations. This will entail monitoring whether the high-risk group seeks appropriate follow-up care at hospitals, while also observing whether the low-risk group continues to adhere to a healthy lifestyle and diet.
